Guidelines for Preparing “Discussions” on Published Articles

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Hydraulics has approved the guidelines for preparing and submitting “Discussion” related to published articles. Starting from 2024, interested individuals may submit discussions following the approved format, based on the publication date indicated on each article.

Waiver of Peer Review and Acceptance Fees for English Articles Until End of 2026

In its final meeting of the year 2024, the Editorial Board extended the waiver of peer review and acceptance fees for English-language articles until the end of 2026. Authors can access the guidelines for preparing English manuscripts from the English section of the journal’s website.

ORCID Code Requirement

As of the beginning of March 2023, providing an ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) for all authors is mandatory. Please ensure that ORCID IDs for all authors are entered in the journal submission system when submitting a manuscript.

Plagiarism Check of Submissions

In line with the editorial policy and to uphold academic integrity, all submitted manuscripts to the Journal of Hydraulics will undergo plagiarism checks using the IranDoc’s Hamandjoo System or Sinaweb’s Hamyab System before entering the peer review process.

Citation Incentives for Referencing the Journal of Hydraulics

As approved by the Editorial Board and the Board of Directors of the Iranian Hydraulic Association, authors who cite articles from the Journal of Hydraulics in their JCR-indexed publications are eligible for one of the following incentives, based on the preference of the corresponding author when submitting a new manuscript to the journal:

  1. 50% discount on peer review and acceptance fees for the new manuscript
  2. 50% discount on one-year membership in the Iranian Hydraulic Association
  3. Priority publication of the new article in the next available issue (bypassing the standard publication queue)

Additionally, authors who make the highest number of citations to Journal of Hydraulics articles within a given year will be formally recognized at the Annual Iranian Hydraulic Conference.

To receive these incentives, authors must email their JCR publications that reference Journal of Hydraulics articles to: jhyd.ir@gmail.com and specify which of the three incentives they wish to apply.

Article Processing Fees

In accordance with the revised regulations issued by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology for 2022–2023, the maximum article processing charge for full articles is 15 million IRR. After evaluation and approval by the Editorial Board and the Board of Directors of the Iranian Hydraulic Association, the following fee structure will apply for articles submitted from March 2024, which are scheduled for publication in 2025–2026:

Phase 1 – Peer Review Fee

3 million IRR after initial editorial approval
(2.5 million IRR for Association members)
Payment request will be sent via email upon editor approval.

Note: Based on the editorial board's resolution and the association’s confirmation, a reviewer exemption is granted for every three articles reviewed since 2018. This exemption applies to the corresponding author only, and the designated reviewer must be clearly indicated in the authors’ declaration form.

Phase 2 – Final Acceptance Fee

6 million IRR after final acceptance of the article
(5 million IRR for Association members)
Payment link will be sent with the official acceptance letter.

For both stages, authors must log into the journal’s online system and complete the payment via the designated online portal. If claiming exemption from peer review fees, the request must be indicated in the author declaration form.
